Lakers vs. Timberwolves

The Lakers choked. It is utterly frustrating to see them up by as many as 18 points and then fall apart. I know it has been a common theme to suck it up in the 4th quarter but this one is worse because they couldn't blame it on not knowing the triangle offense. They gave up 39 points to the 'wolves in the 4th quarter. For awhile it looked as if the Lakers were going to actually win back to back games in back to back nights.

The first half was awesome. The Lakers played their best half of the year. Cook and Parker were both great. The scoring was spread out as the Lakers had 5 guys in double figures. Both Lamar and Kobe nearly had a triple double. However, for once (at least since the beginning of the season) their offense was not the problem. It was their defense that was to blame.

There is no excuse for giving up so many points in the 4th quarter. I thought it was the NCAA tournament all over again, the way they made Wally Szczerbiak a star. He shot the lights out with the help of poor defense. Pro's should not have a hard time keeping someone from shooting 3's.

Lakers lose 113-108, Record 6-9
