Lakers @ Jazz

It's about time they started the game well. They put themselves in such a hole on the road against the Spurs and at home against the Nets. It's especially hard to come back from such a hole on the road against a good team. Well, this 1st quarter was much better even though they allowed the Jazz to creep in towards the end. SSSSMMMMUUUSSSSHHHHH!!!!!! He went off in the 1st. The kid is definitely fun to watch. He needs to keep up this kind of agression at all times.

The Lakers cruised through the 2nd and 3rd quarter while maintaining a decent lead and then came the 4th. They crumbled once again, as their offense disappeared. It was disturbing to see 4 guys standing around watching Kobe on offense. I would love to get paid highly to watch the game from an on-court seat. Anyone know how to get one of those? Are they afraid to cut to the basket or to set a pick? The triangle is a motion offense where you are supposed to read and react. Well, there was a whole lot of reading and not a whole lot of reacting in the fourth.

When Kobe fouled out in OT, they actually ran the offense. I guess they were forced to since Kobe was not their to carry them. It's as if they get scared to make plays when he is in the games at times. Great players want to play and they want the ball. Sometimes Kobe is the only one that wants it. I know some critics blame Kobe but it's really hard if his teammates stand around and then when they get the ball, they try their hardest to force it back into his hands. How about flashing across the key to the ball. Set a pick, do something! Well, in OT they did move the ball, the spacing was good, the shooting great. Sasha hit a big shot. It was nice to see them actually fight off the win after losing a lead they maintained all game.

The Lakers aggressiveness on offense in the first half by someone other than Kobe is worthy of noting. It was nice to see Lamar taking the ball to the hole aggressively even if they weren't falling for him, Smush being very aggressive early and Sasha stepping up and hitting 3's. Sasha is showing great improvement every game. I think he's going to be a great player for years to come. It's hard not to get excited about all the young talent on this team. There is plenty of it. Ssssshhhhhh but I think that's why Phil came back.

P.S. We might have got lucky at the end of the game. Kobe got a good call. Although, it was deserved as they missed a call 1 or 2 plays previously.

Lakers win 105-101, Record 6-8
